Je ne m'attends pas à voir ma réponse apparaître dans les pages du National Post, alors je la fais paraître ici. (J'utilise ce formulaire car il n'y avait pas lien pour ajouter un commentaire à la suite de l'éditorial.)

If you take the population of Quebec out of the federation, the canadian population drops to 21 millions, just below the population of the last G20 member. Surprising.
If you take Quebec GDP out of the canadian GDP, the canadian GDP falls down two or three positions in the list. That must be why they want to keep Quebec in the federation so much. But what if Prince-Edouard-Island wanted to leave ? I am just asking...
And also, we learn that Quebec GDP almost reachs G20 level, out of let's say 250 countries, that's not bad.
Your editorial is a long demonstration explaining why an independant Quebec would not be part of the G20, i get that part. But i missed the part about the privileges of being part of the G20. You mention "a chance to shine on the world stage". Do you mean by shinning on the world stage something like speaking in your own name at the United Nations ? at the WTO ?

5 juillet 2010Je crois que j'ai pris, comme chiffres, 29 milions moins 7.9 millions. J'ai pris 29 millions de mémoire, visiblement, je me suis trompé.
L'idée est surtout la suivante : on s'étend longtemps sur ce que perdrait le Québec en quittant la fédération, mais on semble oublier que ce que le Canada perdrait. Car, voyez-vous, le Canada n'est pas désintéressé et nous ne sommes pas une marginale province pauvre.

Population du Quebec: 7.9 millions
Canada sans le Quebec: 21 millions ???
